We realize that our opening statements, “Human relations
are at the heart of everything. Discovering what’s going
on makes everything else possible.” are out of the ordinary.
But we sincerely believe in this philosophy.
That is, there’s a reason ‘family’ comes before
‘business’ in the phrase ‘family business’.
And successful families may be many things, but they are, first
and foremost, people.
If we ignore this, we are often unable to figure out what’s
really going on, and can become frustrated by our inability to
sort things out, and move forward.
As people work together to enhance their awareness of themselves
and how they relate to one another, they begin to communicate
more effectively, identify solutions, and achieve success.
More about our name.
ONIDA is an aboriginal word that means "the one searched
for". We chose it for its meaning, which fits neatly with
our work.
And we chose it because it represents the deep connection ONIDA's
Founder, Jennifer East, has to the part of Canada where her family
still lives, on the shores of Georgian Bay, in Killarney, Ontario.
